DBI Today: 51.6 (−0.9)

Over the weekend, a drone strike hit a Kuwait Oil Company platform and Qatar's air defences intercepted incoming fire — a reminder that the ceasefire between the US and Iran, which President Trump declared "over" on 8 July, is holding in name only. And yet Wall Street barely blinked. The Daily Business Index — our daily 0-to-100 readout of global business health, where 50 is neutral — eased slightly to 51.6 from 52.5. That's a genuinely small move, and it tells its own story: markets have grown almost numb to the drumbeat of Middle East headlines, even as oil, shipping and the broader risk picture stay uneasy underneath the calm surface.
